Sad song meme 8c
Instructions is, uh...basically just post with tear-joikas. |D
- Esmerine - Why she swallows bullets and stones
- Tin Hat - The Longest Night
- Nick Cave and the Bad Seeds - Spell
- Dir en Grey - Higeki Ha Mabuta
- Smog - Palimpsest
- Home Video - Melon
- Mirah - The World Is Falling
- Cloud Cult - May Your Hearts Stay Strong
- Summer At Shatter Creek - World's Away
- Mind.In.A.Box - Change
hmuuu ;3; ugh, i actually can't listen to a few of these without becoming nauseous with sadness. But they have great atmosphere, oh man. (Cliff Martinez's soundtrack to Solaris is also really good, ambient stuff.) Enjoy responsibly! |D Music is simply...otherworldly powerful and influential.
First four is BAD TIMES IN THE LIFE 6_9 Rest just sorta...snuck up and brained me with, y'know, those shivers of feeling. I would have included Decemberists, but "Annan Water" loses its effect without the rest of the album backing it up. :oa EVERYTHING BY SUMMER AT SHATTER CREEK IS THE WEEPS, SERIOUSLY ;A; And I love Mind.In.A.Box because, despite how gutted and cold I felt after hearing some lines of "Change," somehow their work is altogether very empowering. They celebrate the most painful weakness and also the potential to overcome it, I think. Reminds me a quote I read once about how the deeper you're carved by sorrow, the more joy you'll be able to carry. Excellent. ;3; ff a couple of NIN songs did not make their way here, like "All That Could Have Been" and "Leaving Hope," but they're worth a look-see, too. lol shut up dir en grey is my life 8U And, oh, I recommend Smog if you enjoy lo-fi music. It's all very chill "musical talking," heh. XD
Also, be sure to check out eigthyeightdays' other awesome videos. Dat music. ;3; His blogpost to accompany the "Bullets and stones" video was very humbling and inspiring.

Crazy busy life is finally taking a break, but only for a few days. Apartment hunting resumes Thursday :/
Got some of the older cosplay pictures (with many thanks to Panda) posted on Deviant, check out here: http://angrias.deviantart.com/
Geoff and I were in such a hurry on the night of Cosplay Prom though that we completely forgot to take a picture of the steampunk costumes I've been working on. A new bodice will ensue but I was very happy with how the little hat turned out :D pictures to follow.
Also, looks like Kairi and Zexion from Kingdom Hearts will be my upcoming projects.
No word from Disney, but I'll be heading back to CA in December... more and more its looking like the 19th but I'll keep everyone posted (damn black out dates at work).

I have been SO BUSY the last few days that I've had this partially
typed out. I finally have time to finish and post!!
en brief: Jon
Stewart did a great parody of my favorite TWO, and omg I
could not stop laughing. You need to stop whatever you are doing and
watch this rightnow.
Also: Sunday was NUTS. Saturday was pretty good (I think I updated
Saturday?? did I?? I can't check from here lol) but man oh man Sunday
was a doozy. I got up and went to sunday school/church and whatnot
(and I even baked banana bread!!), I modeled a beautiful handmade
stole for my friend Gail (her friend made it for her but it was too
small so she asked me to model so she could get pictures of it), and
then I just couldn't sit still in church so I left during the peace.
lol I just couldn't focus and settle down for some reason. I felt
better when I got home though; maybe I was feeling overwhelmed or
something. Sometimes that happens :\
I planned to make a sweet potato casserole for the young adults
meeting and some pumpkin bread muffins if I had the time. Around 1 or
so I started boiling the sweet potatoes and mixing up the pumpkin
bread batter. Then my aunt calls.... We were going to try and get the
furniture etc. but then we didn't have anyone to help us with it and
no truck to bring it down in. Well, my aunt found someone, and she was
like, "can you guys come help us load it because the stairs are so
steep..." and I'm looking at the pot of boiling sweet potatoes and
Chris out grilling turkey burgers he had painstakingly put
together.... and she's giving me a guilt trip about it (passive
aggressive) so I'm like "Umm... sure...."
So we drove an hour up to West Nashville, and we pull in the
driveway.... and it's already loaded. !!!! so we basically turned
around and drove an hour and a half (it felt that long at least) back
to our house. It was 5:20 and I had to be at my meeting at 6. -_-;; I
ended up cooking it in her toaster oven lol and it was a dessert
instead of a side. and really it's so sweet it should be a dessert..
mmm... I was a bit frustrated with my aunt but it was all okay in the
end like it always is, and I feel silly for getting so worked up over
nothing.
The meeting went really well, and we recorded the liturgies for
morning, noonday, and evening prayer. We still have to get the
lectionary readings done but that will be a snap. We're going to have
a Christmas party, hopefully at a parishoner's house, and play dirty
santa. (I think I've been playing dirty santa at church christmas
parties since I was 12. It will never get old. LOL)
The food was amazing too!! And there were a lot of people there. I
really should take a count of how many people are at a meeting..
durrr...
Yesterday I got a lot of stuff done--ALL my EfM homework and most of
an outline for the Edinburgh paper. (I don't care
how it's pronounced I will always think it's 'eh-din-berg'. Pbbt!!
xP.) And I even went home and retrieved the pumpkin bread muffins that
I made on Sunday for class.
Class was really spectacular even though none of our first years were
there, lol. I hope we didn't scare them off >_> Ron
is such an amazing mentor, and a wealth of knowledge. I wish everybody
could know him. Don't you just love people like that? He's just the
neatest guy and so down to earth but not in a pretentious way... I
really wish I had taken him at MTSU :\ but I feel really lucky to have
him as an EfM mentor. <3<3 Ron!!
I woke up this morning with a bad headache, I think from grinding my
teeth during the night. I must have been really stressed out--I need
to relax, lol. I think my paper is actually going to be pretty good
and I'm looking forward to writing again.

Some of you may know that I sit on the Diocese's Comission On Ministry, and 2 of us in the Deacon Order were asked to write a brief explanation of what being a deacon means to us. To be included in our new Discernment Handbook.. I thought I'd share my thoughts here.
In society there is an abundance of misconceptions of what a deacon is. In some church denominations, a deacon is not an ordained order, but an honorific title for lay church elders, so Deacons of the Episcopal Church often find themselves explaining exactly what a Deacon is. Simply a deacon in an apostolic succession church is an ordained order. Within the liturgy the Deacon also stands as a symbol of the servant Christ. We proclaim the gospel, we bid the prayers, we stand as Christ to proclaim the confession for the community, and we prepare the table in order to make a holy space for the Eucharist to occur. The deacon’s life is not a job or a vestment we put on, it is a way of life, we are set apart to specifically care for the poor, the sick, and the friendless. Deacons serve in that threshold area, interpreting the needs of the community (particularly that community) to the church, and interpreting the church to the world. That mission is what defines our ways of living it is what frames our ministry. Our eyes are always open to how the church can fulfill God’s mission to the poor in our world. It is simply our ways of living, it is who we are

guys i am really sorry if i say something creepy or totally off-the-wall i blurt out especially special things when i'm nervous. i haven't done this recently i don't think maybe i have, but boy has it been a long time coming :X explanations, i mean? part of me wonders why i'm compelled to apologize about this because even that seems silly, but i've met some seriously uptight people before and in my efforts to be chill i...overcompensate? fumble? anyway, crazy intense jitters i... nuts. okay, settle down there. i say something to diffuse the tenseness, but it totally backfires because I'M so tense i can't think clearly.
tips? does anyone else have trouble with this? i think it's baggage that comes along with social anxiety. like not raising your voice for so long you have trouble achieving the right volume for the right places and h-holy moley that sounds even crazier and shut-in-ier 8[ a-and anyway god i gotta do some...breathing exercises or something to overcome this shit. man. 8[ *extreme facepalm*

TWO SENTENCES SO FAR
THAT IS MY PROGRESS 8ccc then i started stringing rhyming words together and maybe i should write this scene-by-scene because TRANSITIONS DO I NEED THEM NO
yeah, you're really looking forward to this. i promise I won't post with BY THE SENTENCE NEWS every time I squeeze out another screaming, gory blob of prose.
ONLY THING IS
I haven't really explained the priest's apparently...readily...er, familiarity with Cain judging by his treatment of Rion. That whole scene implies multiple visits, right? ...NO I DON'T WANT TO. 8CCC If I'm misunderstanding this shit and fuckin'-- write something inaccurate, especially something as mind-bleaching as this, I will hate myself intensely. I guess Cain really is tremendously fucked in the head and might've willingly revisited the priest in order to...face his fears? Or hide that he's actually wounded and terrified of the thing, so he fully embraces the thing? ...|:[ sadface BRB PREEMPTIVELY HATING MYSELF INTENSELY
